Install Omega Performance Engine
Installation and preflight requirements for Omega Performance Engine WordPress Plugin 2.0.0, including safe first-run checks.
Pre-installation requirements
Verify the environment before installation so unsupported server/platform conditions are discovered before production changes.
- Create a current backup appropriate to the site before installing or making production changes.
- WordPress 6.0+.
- PHP 7.4+.
Installation procedure
- Back up the WordPress files/database.
- Upload the commercial plugin ZIP through Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin, or install it using an equivalent trusted administrator workflow.
- Activate the plugin while logged in with an administrator account that has the required capability.
- Open the Omega product dashboard in wp-admin and review Status/Settings before enabling higher-impact controls.
- Complete the product-specific setup workflow and test representative frontend/admin functions.
Immediately after installation
- Begin with Conservative mode and review runtime diagnostics/compatibility indicators.
- Test public pages, wp-admin, login, forms, builders and ecommerce before moving to Balanced.
- Balanced guarded deferral should remain dependency-aware and sensitive-handle aware.
- Enable Aggressive removals one at a time and test the exact pages that depend on those assets.
Do not treat installation as proof of compatibility
Runtime optimization cannot guarantee a fixed browser performance score. Cache/CDN layers, themes, builders, ecommerce, analytics and third-party scripts can materially affect results. Aggressive options require site-specific testing.
