Pre-installation requirements
Verify the environment before installation so unsupported server/platform conditions are discovered before production changes.
- Create a current backup appropriate to the site before installing or making production changes.
- WordPress 6.0+.
- PHP 7.4+.
- GD or Imagick through the WordPress image editor.
- WebP/AVIF generation requires corresponding codec support in the active editor.

- Upload the commercial plugin ZIP through Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin, or install it using an equivalent trusted administrator workflow.
- Activate the plugin while logged in with an administrator account that has the required capability.
- Open the Omega product dashboard in wp-admin and review Status/Settings before enabling higher-impact controls.
- Complete the product-specific setup workflow and test representative frontend/admin functions.
Immediately after installation
- Review the active WordPress image editor and its WebP/AVIF capability before batch processing.
- Choose AVIF/WebP quality settings appropriate to the site before optimizing existing media.

- Scan the Media Library before starting an authenticated batch.
Do not treat installation as proof of compatibility
AVIF/WebP output depends on the host and active WordPress image editor. Themes, page builders, custom markup and caching/CDN layers can affect final frontend picture/srcset delivery. Image optimization cannot by itself guarantee a specific page-speed or Core Web Vitals score.
