Omega Image Engine Pro documentation

Complete Omega Image Engine Pro Pure HTML 2.0.1 documentation covering all audited customer-facing capabilities, installation, setup, safety, troubleshooting and support.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

What Omega Image Engine Pro does

A self-contained PHP administration and image-processing engine for Pure HTML/static sites. It discovers local images, builds a managed Omega Media Library, generates width-specific AVIF/WebP variants where the server supports them, and can safely apply browser-native responsive delivery to eligible HTML with backups before rewriting.

24 documented capabilities

The Features reference below maps every meaningful customer-facing capability identified in the audited 2.0.1 product codebase.

Local-first operation

The core functions described on this page are designed to operate locally on the customer website/server rather than requiring an OmegaWebApps cloud processing subscription. This reduces dependency on remote processing services and keeps operational state under the website owner’s control, subject to the hosting/platform environment.

Platform-specific architecture

Private PHP administration and filesystem/server workflows for static sites.

Core operating workflow

  1. Extract the engine at the website root so /omega-image-engine/ and /omega-media-library/ are created.
  2. Create the first private Omega administrator.
  3. Open Status and confirm writable directories plus available Imagick/GD WebP/AVIF capabilities.
  4. Set the website Base URL.
  5. Run Full Site Image Discovery and review discovered sources.
  6. Import the images you want Omega to manage.
  7. Select managed sources and generate the required modern-format/responsive variants.
  8. Review library metadata, usage and conversion state.
  9. Use Back Up & Apply Responsive Delivery when ready to update eligible HTML markup.
  10. Run duplicate scanning, preview confirmed groups and delete only unprotected orphan duplicates when appropriate.

Safety architecture

Technical boundaries

AVIF/WebP availability depends on the server image editor and installed codecs. Responsive variants improve delivery options but do not guarantee a particular Lighthouse/Core Web Vitals score. HTML rewrite support is for eligible local markup; unusual templating/runtime-generated markup may require manual integration. Nginx does not process .htaccess and therefore requires equivalent server configuration for web-deny protections.
